Initial Customer Brief
Our customer, a family in Concord, wanted to renovate their ensuite, main bathroom and laundry. They were looking for a quality and affordable bathroom renovation Sydney that would add value to their property. The family initially contacted us after a recommendation from a family friend. We met at their house to get a better understanding of what they wanted. They chose to select their own materials in advance and wanted our team to provide them with design and layout advice, along with planning the entire construction project from start to finish.
Challenge
One hurdle we had to overcome was the size and layout of the main bathroom. It was extremely narrow, so finding the right design for the small bathroom was a big consideration. Our solution was to create a “shower room layout” which is basically a walk-in shower and bath separated from the rest of the bathroom with a shower screen. This layout also created more space for the vanity counter, thus making it not just functional but also visually pleasing. For the ensuite and laundry room, we were able to deliver a more straightforward design that optimised the space more effectively including designing a double sink vanity for the ensuite, delivering great value on both aesthetics and functionality.
Design and Construction
The construction had some issues come up where we found underground pipe blockages that needed to be unclogged before moving forward with any jobs. Also, the second storey bathroom floor required replacement prior to work starting. The ceiling also needed some adjustment to fit in the new light and heat fittings. We often find with older homes that there is more work than initially expected, however, we were able to provide straightforward solutions for our client and avoid major delays to the project.
Final Result
While there were a few unforeseen challenges, DCON Group was able to tackle them without any difficulties and the renovations look spectacular on completion. The new main bathroom, laundry room and ensuite are definitely showpieces for the house!
